In recent years, Capcom has seen a string of booming success, mostly spearheaded by the hit that the Monster Hunter series has become for the publisher/developer. Street Fighter 6 has also been very lucrative, as it has recently reached 6 million units in sales. And Resident Evil continues to garner excitement, with the recent reveal of the franchise's newest entry Resident Evil 9: Requiem.
The brand also acknowledges that they have value in their secondary IPs, aiming at least two releases per year. In their 2025 Integrated Report, Capcom speaks about keeping a regular stream of re-releases that include their pillar franchises like Devil May Cry, Ace Attorney, and Mega Man to fill the gaps.
Capcom owns a wealth of globally popular brands, such as Mega Man, Devil May Cry, and Ace Attorney. We aim to expand our user base and improve our performance through new releases, remakes, and ports of titles in these series to new hardware.

Does this mean new SEQUELS in these franchises? Perhaps not in the immediate future, and it isn't the first time Capcom has evaluated these properties in this manner. In regards to Mega Man, they have spoken often about how to redistribute the series for modern audiences. While a staple of Capcom's home software success in the 80's and 90's, the Blue Bomber has had a rough transition connecting with a new generation of fans. There are still a few Mega Man games that have not seen a redistribution, such as the 2004 turn-based RPG, Mega Man X: Command Mission.
With Ace Attorney, the most recent release was the Investigations Collection, a spin-off series which saw the first international release of Prosecutor's Gambit. The Apollo Justice Trilogy was the last mainline trilogy, with no announcement of an "Ace Attorney 7", though speculation has led fans to believe something may come to fruition in 2026. Take that with a grain of salt.
Devil May Cry's latest entry, Devil May Cry 5, was released in 2019. It has been the best selling game in the series as of this writing. Despite this, director of the fifth game, Hideaki Itsuno left Capcom in 2024 to form his own company Lightspeed Studios. While the Netflix anime keeps Devil May Cry as a publicly known entity, the game series for time being seems put to rest. At least until there is a new head at the director position. Capcom has rebooted the franchise before, there is a chance it may happen again. Seeing the renewed interest in the Onimusha series with the upcoming new entry, Onimusha: Way of the Sword, the ventures of the Sons of Sparda could likely be revisited, but time will tell.
