It's felt like quite the wait. Season 2 of Street Fighter 6 is bookended by the tribal princess, Elena, as fans finally get their first look at her gameplay. She joins the roster June 5th (with varying time zones, she may be available on the 4th for some players), bringing the game's second season to a close. After Terry Bogard and Mai Shiranui followed behind each other seemingly quick, the gap between Mai's release date and Elena's announcement was noticeable.
Introduced in 1997, Elena is the first character from the new Generation Street Fighter III characters to make the jump.

A fighter that uses capoeira, Elena utilizes her tricky animations to keep opponents guessing. Her long legs provide extra range on her attacks, giving her a great combination of offensive prowess and defensive poke strategies designed for solid anti-airing and checking dash-in attempts. She's also capable of fantastic juggle capabilities, and with the strength of Street Fighter 6's Drive System, good chance she's going to be tough to contend with.
Or course, the directors saved Elena's healing for the very end of the trailer. In Ultra Street Fighter IV, her healing was considered very controversial due to how strong it was. As an Ultra 2, Elena could heal herself, then use her high mobility to avoid opponents and continuously regain health. So she would take damage, which built your Ultra bar, activate, then regain health in an almost endless cycle. There's a strong chane her healing will be reworked for Street Fighter 6, so Elena may not be the tournament terror she was in USFIV.
Street Fighter 6 is currently available for the Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, PS4, Steam, and launches on the Nintendo Switch 2 on June 5th.
