Just in time for the season of thanks, the Nintendo Switch Online Service has provided its monthly update of additions to two catalogs. For the Nintendo Entertainment System and the Game Boy, subscribers can access these four games. For the NES, its Rare's notoriously difficult, but highly memorable action brawler Battletoads. And Ryu Hayabusa continues his high-paced fight against Ashtar in the 1990 hack-n-slasher Ninja Gaiden II: The Dark Sword of Chaos.
For the Game Boy, an entry never released in Japan, the action platformer Kid Icarus: Of Myths and Monsters. And from Capcom, it's the portable version of the tactical action shooter Bionic Commando.
These games are available TODAY (access requires a Nintendo Switch Online membership.

Ninja Gaiden II: The Dark Sword of Chaos - It takes place one year after Ryu Hayabusa defeated the Demon King and prevented the resurrection of the evil gods in the previous game, "Ninja Gaiden." The man who manipulated the Demon King from behind the scenes, Ashtar, the Demon Emperor, takes action himself. In this game, you can now climb up and down walls, and attack by consuming ninjutsu power while holding onto a wall, giving you more freedom of movement. Also introduced is the "Clone Technique," which creates up to two clones that follow Ryu and attack simultaneously with him. By skillfully guiding the clones, Ryu's attack range can be greatly expanded.
Battletoads - Released for the Family Computer in 1991. Rush and Zitz, the highly trained, strongest frog warriors known as "Battletoads," must defeat numerous enemy monsters, avoid traps, and rescue the kidnapped Princess Angelica and her companion, Pimple. Conquer a diverse range of 12 stages, including side-scrolling, vertical-scrolling battle action, and high-speed action on air bikes and space boards, using the techniques appropriate for each stage.
Kid Icarus: Of Myths and Monsters - Released for the Game Boy in North America in 1991 (not released in Japan). The goddess Palutena gives the angel Pit a new mission: to fight bosses in three different worlds and obtain the Three Sacred Treasures. Pit travels through a vast world, defeating enemies that stand in his way and jumping from place to place. In the tower-based "Underworld" and "Sky" worlds, you move upwards, while in the "Earth" world, you move sideways. Within the stages, there are various rooms, such as shops where you can purchase items and rooms where you can train and receive weapons.
Bionic Commando - Released in 1992. Players take on the role of protagonist Ladd Spencer, armed with a gun in one hand and a special wire in the other, as they battle the Dreyse army. There are several types of guns available, including a wide-range rifle that fires bullets in three directions and a powerful grenade launcher. The retractable wire is essential for conquering fortresses. It provides great mobility, allowing players to retract the wire to climb higher or swing from one location to another, using it like a pendulum. In the communications rooms located in each area, players can speak with allies or eavesdrop on enemy conversations to obtain valuable information.
