In a move seemingly faster than usual, Capcom has dropped the final character for Street Fighter 6's third season, just two weeks after Alex returned to the roster. Following the returns of fan favorites Crimson Viper and Sagat, rounding out the content is the popular, enigmatic Ingrid. Her design contrasts much from her initial appearance, adopting a more otherworldly appearance.

Street Fighter 6 will mark Ingrid's first appearance since Capcom Fighting Evolution. She was initially to be a part of Capcom Fighting All-Stars, a cancelled 3D fighter that was set to debut in 2004. Designed by Senri Kita (who has done a lot of work for the Fire Emblem series), Ingrid joined the cast of Capcom Fighting Evolution instead, a fighting game rather infamous for being of lesser quality than other sprite-based fighters. While the game itself was considered a dud, with poor balance, the lazy reuse of sprites, and a lack of style and polish, Ingrid herself remained an incredibly popular entity among the fans.
She was added to Street Fighter Alpha 3 MAX, the PlayStation Portable version of the game, so her exposure wasn't particularly mainstream, but was her formal introduction into Street Fighter. As a result, she is relatively a mystery, beyond the title of "Code Holder". Based on the trailer where she's interacting with the World Tour protagonist, she's alien (or borderline god) in nature. Sometimes, there's subtle hints as to how characters will play, based on these snippets. Her companion, Monoid, could very likely come into play. Get ready, there's no telling how her unorthodox behavior will be implemented into Street Fighter 6's Drive System.
Street Fighter 6 is currently available for the Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and 4, Nintendo Switch 2, and Steam.
