A new Silent Hill project has been revealed. During Konami's PRESS START presentation held on June 12th, which highlighted a string upcoming software, from Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater to a new entry in the Suikoden series (STAR LEAP). The presentation wraps up with the announcement that a remake of the first Silent Hill is in development.

Konami partners up with Bloober Team once again for production. Given the critical success, general reception, and sales (selling over 2 million copies, as of January 2025) of 2024's Silent Hill 2 Remake, the publisher trusts the Polish-based developer's work with the survival horror series. With Silent Hill f planned for a September 2025 release, Konami's revival of one of its dormant IPs seem to continue trending in good favor. Will artist Masahiro Ito and composer Akira Yamaoka return once again for work on this project?

Released in 1999, the first Silent Hill's story followed Harry Mason searching for his daughter in the eponymous town's "Other World", unraveling its horrific mysteries with the aid of Cybil Bennett. You could unlock five possible endings, based on key choices the player makes involving Cybil and Dr. Michael Kaufmann. As an alternative to Capcom's Resident Evil series, Silent Hill placed a stronger emphasis on psychological elements, becoming memorable for its complex characters. In 2009, a reimagining was developed for the Nintendo Wii, alternating the plot and characters, and utilizing the motion controls for the puzzles.
