On July 14th, it was announced that Japanese studio ACQUIRE Corp. has partnered with the United Arab Emirates-based video game publisher to create a wide range of original intellectual properties. ACQUIRE Corp. has over thirty years in the game industry, they are known for their work on the Tenchu series, Way of the Samurai, and Akiba's Trip. Their most recent work includes co-development on Octopath Traveler and Mario & Luigi: Brothership.
Red Dunes Games, despite being formed in 2024, has not released a game yet. Planned under their release is an explorative action game, Zozo and the Lost Dreams and they are publishing the upcoming Samurai Pizza Cats: Blast From the Past action game, developed by Blast Zero.

“ACQUIRE is a legendary studio with a deep creative legacy, and we are honored to work with them to build the next wave of original games,” stated Sultan Darmaki, Red Dune Games' CEO and creative director. “This partnership is a reflection of our belief that the future of gaming lies in global collaboration, where stories cross borders, and innovation knows no region.
ACQUIRE's CEO Takuma Endo chimed in: “As ACQUIRE, a studio that has long valued originality from Japan in game development, we are thrilled to have found a wonderful partner in Red Dunes Games and embark on a bold new global challenge together. “We’ve always believed in the power of originality. Now, with Red Dunes, we’re building something truly international.”
This collaboration currently has three projects under their umbrella. They're currently codenamed Project Shadowcar (a reported espionage thriller), Project Tremor (centralized around "earth-shaking" kaiju brawling, I suppose similar to Gigabash), and Project Umbra (a game that will feature "dark fantasy hunts"). The official reveals for these games are planned for the 2025 Tokyo Games Show, coming up in September. Mostly focusing on independent games, Red Dune games partnering with a 30 year veteran company will go a way towards broadening their appeal.
