Stellar Blade, one of the PlayStation 5's exclusive hits, has placed emphasis on its developer, Shift Up Corporation, to begin major moves in producing a follow-up. According to reporting from GamesTalk.net, the South Korean developer and publisher have opened up a large scale recruiting campaign on November 21st.
"Through this recruitment, ShiftUp is seeking talented individuals to collaborate on the creation of a next-generation multiplatform action game. We welcome the active support of individuals who will once again surprise gamers around the world with new technologies and creative endeavors."
Shift Up's next installment, "Stella Blade," currently in development, is a AAA multiplatform action game that expands upon the worldview of the company's global hit, "Stella Blade." Aiming for release on various platforms, including consoles and PC, the game will inherit the original IP's stylish action and narrative-driven worldview from its predecessor, delivering an evolved action experience."
The listings for new talent includes:
Art: 3D environments, 3D characters, environment concepts
Game design: monster combat, PC combat, levels, system
Programming: Engine, Client
Others: Technical artist, scenario writer, composer
Releasing in 2024, Stellar Blade sold 3 million units on the PlayStation 5, and launched on PC with an additional 1 million copies in its first three days. The gameplay fared well, and while the narrative was lacking in appeal, the game received praise for its high production values and sound direction.
